This is a quick and easy recipe to make authentic Restaurant Style Mexican Rice at home. My son was begging for more rice before he was done with his plate. He would eat the whole bowl of rice by its self if I would let him. He loves my Restaurant Style Mexican Rice recipe more than the rice he gets at our favorite Mexican restaurant in town.
Add the rice and cook until it is lightly brown and toasted.
Some should be slightly brown and others white as they heat.
Add the garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and cilantro to the pot. Sauté with the rice for about a minute.
Add the water, chicken bullion cubes, and salsa to the pot.
Bring the pot to a boil.
Put the lid on your pot and turn the heat down to low to simmer the rice for 15 minutes.
Every 5 minutes you will want to stir the rice and replace the lid.
Once the rice is done cooking turn off the heat. Put the rice in a bowl and fluff it with a fork.
