Preheat oven to 350 °F degrees, grease, and dust with flour two 8 inch loaf pans.
Cream butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Then add the eggs and buttermilk, and mix well.
Add vanilla, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon to creamed mixture.
Fold in the nuts.
Divide batter between two greased loaf pans.
Bake for 40 – 45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pans for 10 minutes before turning the pan over onto a wire rack to cool.
