You want to start an online store but you don’t know where to start. Should you build your own website from scratch or partner with an online store service? In this Shopify review, I will help you answer these questions and more.
Why would I use Shopify?
If you are serious about building an online store business then Shopify will give you all the tools needed to be successful. Shopify the best e-commerce solutions in the market today and is currently number 1.
From my experience trying to build up your own online store with a website from scratch can be a long and tedious process. An online store service makes the process easier and you will be up to and running in a day instead of months. After reviewing several online store services I would go with Shopify.
With Shopify, you can build and operate online stores as well as sell products in person. Shopify helps you manage all these areas of your business with tools specifically designed for you as the retailers. I had a hard time finding other online store services that help provide this advantage to their retail partners.
I’m not a big business, can I still use Shopify?
Yes, you can use Shopify to start a brand new business from scratch and still have the opportunity to grow your business. From my personal experience, Shopify has helped my son school run their school spirit store online and physically at the school. For any business owner, this is a huge advantage to have the flexibility to operate online and physical if that is your desire to grow your business that way.
I already have an Amazon store can I still use Shopify?
Yes, you can use Shopify and still take advantage of all the benefits they provided to their retail partners. Your current Amazon store can be imported into Shopify without losing your product or customers. Shopify also offers a free 30 day trial for switching to the Shopify service. Since you already leveraging Amazon you have some additional options most other Shopify store owners will not have, starting out.
For example, you can sync your Shopify store with your Amazon store. How does this benefit you? You can allow your customers to still use Amazon payments on your Shopify store with their Amazon accounts. It will save your customers time in entering their information during a purchase. This will make the buying experience easier for them. Simplifying this process is always good for you and your customers.
Another benefit of syncing your Shopify and Amazon stores together is that you can enable Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment. Why is this a big advantage to you as the retailer? Multi-Channel Fulfillment lets you leverage Amazon fulfillment centers to help you store and ship your inventory for you. This is a big deal for your supply chain and inventory management!
Is there an easy way to sync my current online store to Shopify?
Yes, you can import your eBay, Etsy, Wish, Walmart, or Amazon store to Shopify using the Omni Importer App (https://apps.shopify.com/omni-importer), this is a free browser plug-in to install.
The Omni Importer helps you import your online store in bulk without losing any of your product details with just a few clicks. You can auto-sync your pricing and inventory from one or all of your selling accounts to your Shopify store. This is really powerful since it will help you manage all of your stores will one service. I would highly recommend it!
Does Shopify help with my business reporting?
Yes, Shopify provides a whole host of reporting tools that will help you manage your online business. Inventory, shipping rates, taxes, order fulfillment, refunds, business analytics and more!

Overall Shopify is the best eCommerce platform on pricing and the features they provide you to build your online store! They even give you the flexibility to branch out into a physical store if that is your future goal. I would recommend Shopify to anyone starting a business because you receive so much versatility and a variety of service plans to choose from. I like the fact that Shopify is more willing to be upfront with the retailer regarding fees associated with their services. I can say the same thing about Amazon and their fee structure.
