In Part 2 of How to Fix Elementor Stuck on Loading Screen. I will walk you through troubleshooting steps, that will help you verify if you are having any conflicting issues between Elementor and your WordPress site. There are many reasons why Elementor will have a conflicting issue with another feature but I will help you through each reason below.
- You need to re-publish the page you want to edit
- Enable Elementor Switch Editor Loader Method
- Elementor CSS needs to be regenerated
- Elementor stopped working after an update
- A newly installed plugin is conflicting with Elementor
- An updated plugin is conflicting with Elementor
- Your current Theme is conflicting with Elementor
- “Rocket Loader” in Cloudflare is turned on
Why would I need to re-publish the page I want to edit?
When a page is edited in the WordPress editor, sometimes the page is closed before it is republished. When you try to open this same page with Elementor, the loader is not able to open the unpublished page in the Elementor editor. This is why Elementor gets stuck on the loading screen.
1. Open your browser.
2. Log into your WordPress dashboard.
3. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Pages” link.
4. Go to the page you want to change with Elementor.
5. Click on the “Edit” link under the title of the page.
6. In the upper right hand corner of the screen click on the “Publish” button.
7. When the page is done saving click on the “Edit with Elementor” button.
8. If the Elementor editor doesn’t load up, go to the next troubleshooting step.

How to enable Elementor switch editor loader method
This step will help you verify if you are having a server configuration conflict. These types of conflicts can occur when you are using a shared hosting platform.
1. Open your browser.
2. Log into your WordPress dashboard.
3. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Elementor” link.
4. Click on the “Settings” link in the menu.
5. In the Elementor Dashboard, click on the “Advanced” Tab.
6. Enable the “Switch Editor Loader Method” dropdown.
7. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Pages” link.
8. Go to the page you want to change with Elementor.
9. Click on the “Edit with Elementor” link under the Title of the page.
10. If the Elementor editor doesn’t load up, go to the next troubleshooting step.
How to regenerate the CSS for Elementor

1. Open your browser.
2. Log into your WordPress dashboard.
3. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Elementor” link.
4. Click on the “Tools” in the menu.
5. In the Elementor Dashboard, click on the “General” Tab.
6. Click on the “Regenerate Files” button.
7. Click on the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the screen.
7. Clear the cache on your WordPress site and the browser you are using.

8. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Pages” link.
9. Go to the page you want to change with Elementor.
10. Click on the “Edit with Elementor” link under the Title of the page.
11. If the Elementor editor doesn’t load up, go to the next troubleshooting step.

My Elementor stopped working after a new version update
Sometimes the newer version of Elementor will have a conflict and it will cause Elementor to get stuck while loading.
1. Open your browser.
2. Log into your WordPress dashboard.
3. Use a backup plugin to make a backup of your WordPress site! (Don’t skip this step!)
4. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Elementor” link.
5. Click on the “Tools” link in the menu.
6. In the Elementor Dashboard, click on the “Version Control” Tab.
7. Click on the “Reinstall” button. (If you have Elementor Pro use the “Reinstall Pro” button.)
1. Click on the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the screen.
2. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Pages” link.
3. Go to the page you want to change with Elementor.
4. Click on the “Edit with Elementor” link under the Title of the page.
5. If the Elementor editor doesn’t load up, go to the next troubleshooting step.
If the Elementor update, caused Elementor to stop loading, contact Elementor about the problem. Wait until the plugin update can be fixed before trying to update the plugin again.
Elementor stop loading after adding a newly installed plugin
Sometimes a new plugin is not compatible with Elementor. The conflict is usually code related and the new plugin will need to be deactivated.
1. Open your browser.
2. Log into your WordPress dashboard.
3. Use a backup plugin to make a backup of your WordPress site! (Don’t skip this step!)
4. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Plugins” link.
5. Click on the “Active” link on the menu.
6. Find the new plugin and click on the “Deactivate” link.
7. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Pages” link.
8. Go to the page you want to change with Elementor.
9. Click on the “Edit with Elementor” link under the title of the page.
10. If the Elementor editor doesn’t load up, you can reactivate the plugin.
11. Go to the next troubleshooting step.
If the new plugin caused Elementor to stop loading, delete the new plugin. Find another plugin with similar features.

Elementor stop loading after updating a plugin
Sometimes an updated plugin is not compatible with Elementor. The conflict is usually code related and the updated plugin will need to be deactivated. Before you update any plugin, it’s important that you click on the “View version details” link. This will tell you what changes were made, just in case, the plugin stops working correctly. It is usually safe to wait 1 week before updating a plugin because it will give the plugin author time to fix all the errors after the update.
1. Open your browser.
2. Log into your WordPress dashboard.
3. Use a backup plugin to make a backup of your WordPress site! (Don’t skip this step!)
4. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Plugins” link.
5. Click on the “Active” link on the menu.
6. Find the new plugin and click on the “Deactivate” link.
7. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Pages” link.
8. Go to the page you want to change with Elementor.
9. Click on the “Edit with Elementor” link under the Title of the page.
10. If the Elementor editor doesn’t load up, you can reactivate the plugin.
11. Try steps 1 thru 10 with each active plugin.
12. If the Elementor editor still doesn’t load up.
13. Go to the next troubleshooting step.
If any of the plugins cause Elementor to stop loading, try to revert the plugin to the previous version. Contact the plugin author about the problem. Wait until the plugin update can be fixed before trying to update the plugin.
If deactivating and reactivating a plugin has cause damages to your site. Restore your site for the backup you created in step 3. It would be very rare for that to happen but that is why having a backup.
How to find out of your current Theme is conflicting with Elementor
Sometimes a Theme is not compatible with Elementor. The conflict is code related, you can switch to a Theme that is compatible with Elementor. Sometimes a Theme’s update will have a conflict with Elementor. When this happens the Theme update will need to be changed back to its previous version.

How to check if my Theme is causing Elementor to be stuck on loading
1. Open your browser.
2. Log into your WordPress dashboard.
3. Use a backup plugin to make a backup of your WordPress site! (Don’t skip this step!)
4. In the left sidebar, click on the “Appearance” link.
5. In the menu click on the “Themes” link.
6. Select a Theme that is compatible with Elementor, one of the generic WordPress Theme will work.
Your site will look different but it will only be for a little while.
7. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Pages” link.
8. Go to the page you want to change with Elementor.
9. Click on the “Edit with Elementor” link under the Title of the page.
10. If the Elementor editor doesn’t load up, reactivate your Theme.
11. Go to the next troubleshooting step.
If your Theme, cause Elementor to stop loading, reactivate your Theme. Contact the Theme author about the problem. If changing the Theme has caused damage to your site. Restore your site for the backup you created in step 3. It would be very rare for that to happen but that is why having a backup.

How to turn off “Rocket Loader” in Cloudflare
If you are not using Cloudflare to speed up your WordPress site, then you can skip the step.
If you do use Cloudflare then you will need to turn off Rocket Loader.
1. Open your browser.
2. Log into your Cloudflare dashboard.
3. Click on the “Speed” button.
4. Scroll down to the “Rocket Loader” setting.
5. If it is “On”, slide the toggle to the left to turn it “Off”.
6. Log into your WordPress dashboard.
7. In the left sidebar, navigate to the “Pages” link.
8. Go to the page you want to change with Elementor.
9. Click on the “Edit with Elementor” link under the Title of the page.
10. If the Elementor editor doesn’t load up, go to the next troubleshooting step.
If the Elementor editor loads up, then the problem was caused by Rocket Loader blocking the JavaScript needed to load Elementor.
If the Elementor editor doesn’t load up, then click on the link to go to Part 3 for more troubleshooting steps.
