The 2 best resources of how to make money online without a blog

So, why will you need a static website to do affiliate marketing, you may ask? If you don’t have a website, then how are your customers going to find and buy your awesome products or offers you are promoting? I know you will need to use a sales funnel or a landing page to do your affiliate marketing. To make this quick and easy for you, I have already done the research for you, to saves you some time. There are two products that I would recommend to do a sales funnel or a landing page. I know that other successful affiliate marketers are using these tools today.

One is ClickFunnels and the other is LeadPages. Both are excellent products and you can work with either one. I will explain what each one is and at the end of this post, you can decide which system will work best for you! Before dive deep into that, how about we dip our toes into the differences between landing pages and sale funnels since they play different parts in your overarching business and marketing strategy.

What’s the difference between a web page and a landing page?

A landing page is a web page, but it has a unique function. It will take the prospective customer to a predesigned web page where you intend to direct them into a target marketing funnel. These web pages can go by many names but they do different processes but the end goal is still the same. Below I have outlined the differences between these marketing webpages.

Different Types of Web Pages For Marketing

Marketing Web Page Type: What is it and what is it used for?
Squeeze Page Also called a lead capture page or landing page, this is a stand-alone web page. It is used to offer one lead magnet, for example, access to a free webinar, or a free PDF download. The goal is to “squeeze” the visitor into a funnel by getting them to provide their email address.
Bridge Page A web page that comes after a squeeze page, but before your sales page. It is a powerful way to boost your conversion. Its goal is to drive traffic to your sales page or funnel.
Landing Page A designated stand-alone web page showcasing an individual service that you offer. The goal is to make a sale.
Sales Funnel or Sales page A series of many web pages. Its goal is to direct a customer towards his or her final sales decision. This works best when there are options to consider before the customer buys. A sale funnel is perfect if you want to offer up-sells or down sales before the customer completes their purchase.

What is the difference between a sales funnel and a landing page?

Sales funnels and landing pages are easily confused with each other. They have the same end goal of making a sale but serving a different purpose in the stages of a customer’s sales experience.

A landing page is a stand-alone web page created to welcome potential customer traffic sent to it through an online ad campaign. This traffic can come from social media and email marketing initiatives. For example, a customer clicks on an ad linked on Facebook, they will be redirected to a landing page.

This landing page is used for two reasons:
1) Get information from the customer which can be used to market to him or her in the future.
2) Encourage the customer to buy something now.

A sales funnel on the other hand is made up of many web pages that guides or funnels the customer towards his or her final sales. Each page in a funnel is an opportunity to sell additional products or services. This is where you can add in the upselling options.

What is a sales funnel and why do I want to use one?

A sales funnel is the process of making sales with online marketing using a static website. Everyone who does online business creates sales and marketing funnels for all types of business models. The downside is if you try to build sale funnels without the correct tools and services in place it can get very expensive and time-consuming to manage.

There are different types of sales funnels and each one needs to be designed in a way that attracts its intended customer. There are funnels for webinars, sales, membership sites, and subscriber lists. Each one of these funnels are very different from each other. The good news is that ClickFunnels has you covered for each of those scenarios. Easy button anyone!?

What is a landing page and why do I want to use one?

A landing page can be any pages on your website that a new visitor lands on first. By definition, a landing page could be an email opt-in page, a sales page, your home page, a blog post, an “About Us” page, a product listing, or any other type of page you want to drive direct internet traffic to.

This is important for anyone wanting to make money online through marketing. Your goal in marketing is to create an enticing landing page to welcome your first-time visitors and help them learn about your product or service. This is where LeadPages comes in to play!

I hope that helped you understand the difference between sales funnels and landing pages. You may not make the sale at first because they are just starting to get to know you. However, you can convert them from a first-time visitors, into email subscribers. You do this by offering a lead magnet. A lead magnet is when you ask for the person’s email address and in exchange, you email them a free ebook, printable, or an email course series.

With an email series, you can nurture your leads until they become a customer. You can continue nurturing those customers until they become repeat customers and affiliates for your brand. That’s if you offer an affiliate program with your brand but that is another post for another day. Remember, it all starts with an appealing landing page. This is the first impression your customer will have with you! Think of this landing page as the first page in your funnel.

What are some disadvantages to ClickFunnels?

You have to pay extra for Backpack (to build your own affiliate program for your own products and services). ClickFunnels offers only two plans. I would start with the lower plan and then upgrade to the higher plan later. The best time to upgrade is after you start generating enough money to easily cover for the cost of the upgrade. That is how I started to scale my business.

The magnitude of what ClickFunnels can do is pretty massive, and it can be overwhelming to some people. Don’t worry! To help with that ClickFunnels has the training to help you through this process of using the software. I will provide a link to the training for you so you can check out for yourself. I think the software is well designed and I found it easy to use. Not sure the best best way to get started? Get these free funnel books to help you get started.

What are some disadvantages to LeadPages?

Unfortunately, there no such thing as perfect software. One of the drawbacks to LeadPages is that you are stuck with your chosen template for the overall design of your landing page. So if you want to change the design of your landing page you will have to create a new template. I have found it to be very simple to create a new landing page but it is something to be aware of, you will not have this issue with ClickFunnels. Also, your ability to split testing your landing pages is a little bit limited and it is not available at all in the standard plan. If you are working with a team it will be hard for you to share your LeadPages or LeadBoxes templates with them too.

I hope this post helped you decide between the top two affiliate marketing resources. I prefer ClickFunnels over LeadPages because of all of the extra features that I can get without having to buy additional software or do any additional coding. If you want more information on these two tools here are some additional blog posts below to help you with your decision.

  1. Quite educative to read your post, Michelle. As bloggers, we dream of making an income from our blogs and perhaps even a full-time income. Affiliate marketing is a great way to get on that journey without actually having to keep inventory. Very useful info here. Thank you so much! So far I have only dabbled in sponsored posts. Must seriously look into other channels.

  3. Lots of great ideas and explanations here. So many people aren’t aware they can do this or understanding the different tools or types of pages.

  4. Great, I really didn’t want to build a website to start affiliate marketing. I’m glad that your will to provide alternatives to having a blog.

I am happy that I could help you out Mindy. You are correct, you don’t need to build out a blog to do affiliate marketing but you will need to use a sales funnel. A sale funnel is a small website consisting of 1 to 3 simple webpages.
